Stinson Beach, California
Yesterday, I visited Stinson Beach and it was COLD. We expected this (we always look at our weather apps) so we brought sweaters and pants just in case we wanted to change after we got wet. As we looked around, we saw people in their bikinis shivering under their umbrellas and wrapped in towels trying to keep warm.
These are some of the things I would recommend doing:
1. Check the weather!
Because this is the bay area by San Francisco, it is usually cold year round. On the off chance that it is warm, I would still bring a light sweater just in case. Bring sweaters, pants, and maybe even a blanket to the beach, in case you get cold.
2. Don't leave any food out
Although this one might be obvious, the seagulls are vicious when it comes to food. We actually saw a group of seagulls fighting over a Cheetos bag that someone had left. Just beware, you've been warned! (My mom got attacked once in San Francisco by 10 seagulls as she carried some shrimp and chips from Fisherman's Wharf. People were recording her because she was screaming as the seagulls pecked at her and ate most of the shrimp, leaving only 2. Needless to say, my mom is a bit terrified of these birds now.)
3. Bring hiking/tennis shoes for the hiking trails
We didn't go hiking this time, but I want to go back just to enjoy the trails that are along the coastline because you have a view of the pine trees and the beach, which is breathtaking! There are so many trails off the road where you can spend all day hiking.
Those are my quick tips for Stinson Beach. My goal is to visit every beach in California throughout my lifetime. I've already visited some but there are still so many to explore!
